On Tuesday, clashes occurred between Syrian residents of the occupied Golan Heights who were opposed to the construction of a wind energy project and Israeli occupation forces.
In the Israeli-occupied territory, hundreds of Syrians from Majdal Shams, Mas’ade, and Ein Qiniyye came together to defend their farmlands from the wind turbine project and confronted Israeli police.
The illegal project, if implemented, will result in the seizure of 4,500 dunums of agricultural land that provides a living for hundreds of households.
We discussed this developing issue and more in the Syrian case with journalist Steven Nezar Sahiounie based in Syria.
