While the Iranian Shah was overthrown by the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the former used to enjoy warm relations with Israel.
Pahlavi said on Twitter that he is travelling to Israel to “deliver a message of friendship from the Iranian people” and build a “brighter future” for the region with Israel.
